In approach to SNP party convention Angus Robertson wins backing of Hollywood Scot
ANGUS ROBERTSON SNP MP, has gained the backing of actor and independence campaigner Brian Cox who has put his weight behind behind the SNP’s Westminister leader to become depute leader of the party at large.
The news comes a few days before the ballot papers are to be issued on Wednesday of this week and just weeks before the the SNP conference 13 to 15 October.
The actor and campaigner outlined the credentials of the candidate which swayed his decision including the numerous performances Robertson has given as the "unofficial opposition leader."
"He has taken the Tories to task to become the most effective opposition at Westminster and after Brexit, we need an experienced team given we have a real chance to deliver independence." Brian Cox
Brian Cox, actor said: "I have known Angus for many years and I am in no doubt of his abilities.
"He has taken the Tories to task to become the most effective opposition at Westminster and after Brexit, we need an experienced team given we have a real chance to deliver independence. I am confident Angus has the experience and talent to help us get there.
"I couldn't think of a better person to be Nicola Sturgeon's right hand man.
"Angus works tirelessly for the advancement of independence, Scotland and the SNP. That's why I am voting Angus number one to be Depute Leader of the SNP."

Brian's work during the referendum was invaluable and I was pleased to stand beside him throughout.
