Un-edited footage of SNP MEP shows him making spirited appeal in war-paint
ORIGINAL FOOTAGE of Alyn Smith MEP daubed in war-paint and swinging a claymore during his speech in defence of Scotland’s EU status has been released.
European officials had originally edited out the medieval get-up, inspired by Mel Gibson’s ‘Braveheart’, for Europe wide audiences over concerns they would not understand the Scottish cultural idiosyncrasies.
Reports that Smith then approached UKIP leader Nigel Farage and bellowed “Scotland's daughters and her sons are yours no more!” cannot be confirmed by CommonSpace.
Smith has been missing for several days following the speech.
