Today via CommonSocial, Twitter and Facebook we asked for your responses to our #CommonDebate feature
AS part of Scotland’s new media, what you think about the news is a top priority for CommonSpace – we want to know how you feel about major news stories, and what events you think should be getting attention.
Your views on news issues are incredibly important to us, and we want you to be involved every step of the way. Whenever there’s a big question or issue drawing public attention, we’ll use the #CommonDebate hashtag to make sure your voice is heard.
With the SNP conference kicking off at the SECC in Glasgow tomorrow, and the IdeaSpace festival taking place across the way at Glasgow Science Centre, today’s #CommonDebate question was: What would you most like to see come out of the SNP 2016 conference?
Our first response hoped the conference would be a chance to foreground inclusive education:
@TheCommonSpace @theSNP A more concrete commitment to LGBTI+ inclusive education #CommonDebate

A couple of today’s responses focused on mainstream media reporting surrounding the conference:
@TheCommonSpace @theSNP that some how BBC taken to task and inciteful headlines in papers investigated by independent committee with fines
— Nigel Lloyd (@Pittendriech) October 12, 2016
@TheCommonSpace @theSNP Fair, impartial , non- #SNPBad reporting by @BBCScotlandNews & @BBCRadioScot
— John McKay (@johnmcinroe) October 12, 2016
Current events in Syria were raised by one of our respondents, as was the question of a possible second independence referendum.
@TheCommonSpace @theSNP IndyRef2 and action to help Syria.

One user linked a possible second referendum to the ongoing Brexit process:
@TheCommonSpace INDY2 will be commited once A50 is invoked.
— Casper (@Casper10666) October 12, 2016
Some responses suggested that a more economic focus was necessary, and that campaigning for a second independence referendum should not be a priority.
@TheCommonSpace @theSNP reality around the economics of indy & to do something positive about the day job the SNP ain't doing.
— Grey (@redskykite) October 12, 2016
@TheCommonSpace @theSNP Resignations?
Seriously: a commitment to no indyref without explicit manifesto commitment. Need to move on.
— Alastair Cameron (@HappyBritScot) October 12, 2016
Finally, one user felt that going forward the focus for the SNP should be on day-to-day governance rather than on issues surrounding Scottish independence.
@TheCommonSpace @theSNP starting to get on with the job they were elected to do .. and stop whining on bout Indy
