A piece of vacant land in Maryhill – Collina St – has been put up for sale by Glasgow city council “exclusively for private ownership”. Consultation was held with the community thirteen years ago, before Covid-19, austerity and the climate emergency, and the community want the right to be consulted on how the land is used.
“We see this in Maryhill as part of the gentrification that’s pushing local people out into the margins” – Norman Cunningham, community activist.
