The Lift the Ban campaign fights for the right to work for asylum seekers

CURRENTLY people seeking asylum are banned from working while they await a decision on their asylum claim. Many wait years for a decision, and are left to live on £37.75 a week, with little opportunity to integrate into our communities. 

CommonSpace spoke to Pinar Aksu from Maryhill Integration Network about the Lift the Ban campaign, and what policy changes they are calling for.
