Verdict arrived at in groundbreaking Scottish murder case
THE JURY have arrived at a guilty verdict in the case of the killing of Surjit Singh Chhokar.
The guilty verdict is the result of the second trial of Ronnie Coulter, who was acquitted of murder in a previous trial in 1999.
Chhokar was fatally stabbed in 1998. Two investigations were held into the police and prosecution service’s handling of the original investigation into Chhokar’s death, which found systematic failings.
