Event to explore currency options for an independent Scotland will feature presentations and a Q&A session
CURRENCY OPTIONS for an independent Scotland will be explored in a ‘Question Time’ style panel at an event organised by Yes Rutherglen on Thursday (25 August).
The event, at the Glencairn Venue in Rutherglen at 6.30pm, will be chaired by CommonSpace editor Angela Haggerty, and will feature a video presentation by the Campaign for a Scottish Currency (CSC). A panel of four experts will then take part in a ‘Question Time’ style discussion session with queries from the audience. The event will be livestreamed by Independence Live for those who are interested but cannot attend.
Organisers from Yes Rutherglen said that exploring currency was “a pivotal factor in the debate because there can be no independence without financial independence.”

Speakers on the panel include Andy Anderson, author of ‘Currency in an independent Scotland’ and Bob Ingram, Chairman of the Centre for Scottish Constitutional Studies (CSCS. Yes Rutherglen organisers are encouraging those interested to “grasp the opportunity of a fresh start” to get involved with exploring currency options for an independent Scotland.
Ronnie Morrison, co-author of Moving On, a new book about banking and currency, and social entreprenuer Mike Fenwick will also be taking part in the panel. For more information, please contact YesRutherglenInfo@gmail.com.
