Despite not formally being a signatory of the climate agreement, Scotland will be publishing its own ‘Nationally Determined Contribution’ ahead of COP26 which will be held in Glasgow next year.

Despite not formally being a signatory of the climate agreement, Scotland will be publishing its own ‘Nationally Determined Contribution’ ahead of COP26 which will be held in Glasgow next year. It will centre on Scotland’s legally binding target to reduce emissions by 75% by 2030.

But “we should stop praising the Scottish Government (and other nations) based on the reach of their targets. Instead, judge them on the result of their actions. Until they can show that they will actually meet their targets, the targets themselves are meaningless.” –  Dr Craig Dalzell, Head of Policy and Research, Common Weal.
