Scotland Will “Never Forgive” End of Furlough Scheme Causing Homelessness

The Chartered Institute of Housing Scotland has raised concerns that the end of the furlough scheme this month will increase the risk of evictions and homelessness, with the Job Support Scheme not providing a sufficient safety net.

The Chartered Institute of Housing Scotland has raised concerns that the end of the furlough scheme this month will increase the risk of evictions and homelessness, with the Job Support Scheme not providing a sufficient safety net. 

“We find that the new schemes will only save 230,000 of these jobs. As such, 1.8 million viable jobs which could otherwise be preserved will be lost.” – IPPR report.
