The National Clinical Director Jason Leitch said that Scotland could diverge from the rest of UK when it comes to coming out of lockdown, saying “Orkney looks quite different from Oxford Street”. Leitch said that “if it was in Scotland’s interest to do something different” then he would advise First Minister Nicola Sturgeon to do so. Leitch also apologised after he falsely described claims that Scotland was not being prioritised for PPE delivery as “rubbish” earlier in the week.
