Schools which have seen bad grades in previous years could see students marked down this year as a result, due to the SQA’s controversial grading system. The SQA had to develop a new system as the Coronavirus lockdown prevented school tests going ahead, with teachers grading pupils based on course estimates. But the SQA has said it will “moderate” the grading “to ensure consistency across schools and colleges and with results from previous years”. The EIS teachers’ union warned against “compromising” teachers’ judgement. (The Scotsman)
