Twitter harked back to the golden years of #GrowingUpScottish over the weekend
SCOTLAND took to twitter to relive the halcyon days of staying out until the streetlights came on (and not a minute later!) and collecting ginger bottles to exchange for sweeties when #GrowingUpScottish began trending over the weekend.
Of course, there were some collectively denounced downsides: social dancing classes at school, and being ‘kept in’ (aka. grounded).

There were some pretty universal statements that had everyone nodding in agreement.
#GrowingUpScottish first phrase you learn travelling to England is, "I think you'll find that's legal tender!"

Finally, we can probably all admit to having been sent for one of these at some point.
Being sent for tartan paint, sky hooks, a left-handed screwdriver, and a long stand by that one bam of an uncle. #GrowingUpScottish
