The SNP has reiterated its call for the UK’s Trident nuclear arsenal to be abolished, and its replacement cancelled.

New analysis shows that the estimated yearly cost to Scotland of renewing and maintaining trident could train almost 3,000 new public sector workers.

Without Trident, we could train…

  • 235 new doctors (£50,000 per year)
  • 370 new police officers (£31,800 per year)
  • 750 new nurses (£16,000 per year)
  • And 1500 new teachers (£8,280 per year)
